Holly Bonney

Founder and Executive Director

Holly Bonney is the Founder and Executive Director of Moonlit Acres. Holly is Moonlit Acres’ main operations staff. She works in various roles including, but not limited to, inclusive program development for Moonlit Acres’ groups and workshops, primary group facilitator, operations manager, and everything in between.

Holly has been working with individuals with developmental disabilities for over ten years. Through the years, Holly has provided diversified supports that include employment, respite, and personal supports to individuals utilizing self-directed services and agency supports. Holly has also served in leadership roles such as managing a Meaningful Day Employment Department with the Westminster Division of Penn-Mar Human Services. Committed to helping people achieve financial freedom and an advocate for employment-first practices, Holly is a certified Benefits Practitioner licensed through Cornell University. Holly also continues to offer professional development training for Penn-Mar Human Services Meaningful Day and Employment staff around Maryland’s Employment First Initiative and Customized Employment practices. While Holly is passionate about supporting people with developmental disabilities towards independence and financial freedom, she is also equally passionate about therapeutic recreation and respite services. Holly has experience working as a therapeutic recreation professional both professionally and academically. She has a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation.

She is excited to pair her experience with therapeutic recreation, as well as her years of respite experience, to offer a better way to provide respite services through Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm.

Todd Bonney

Assistant Director

Todd Bonney is the Assistant Director at Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm. Todd supports the Executive Director of Moonlit Acres Retreat Farms (MARF) in developing programs and workshops. In addition, Todd uses his gifts of building relationships to support the guests that MARF has the pleasure of serving with excellent customer experience. Additionally, Todd will use his years of leadership experience to support Moonlit Acre’s future volunteer and internship program.

Todd Bonney is a dynamic leader who is currently employed by Bello Machre as the Meaningful Day Program Director where he utilizes over 15 years of experience in program management and development, while teaming with community partners and overseeing a diverse team of professionals. Todd has a passion for pushing disability employment, transition, and inclusion rights forward and has made an impact in Carroll County. He has served in his community by acting as a founding member of Carroll County Transition Council, served on the board of Carroll Area Transit System, and has won the Maryland Rehabilitation and Associated Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his commitment to the effective participation of citizens with disabilities in the economic mainstream. While Todd Bonney’s focus is on developing job development, job coaching, and meaningful day services for his department at Bello Machre, his real passion is working directly with people to build long lasting relationships and make an impact in their lives. For this reason, Todd is excited to serve in a direct role as Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm’s Assistant Director.

Steve Augustine

PhD; Vice President, Technology and Innovation, INEOS Pigments

Steve Augustine leads a team involved in product development, process innovation, and technical support for the chemical manufacture of titanium dioxide.  He has been involved in chemical research and development for more than 33 years with the last 14 being engaged in executive leadership roles.

Steve is a strong advocate of the respite care model proposed by Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm and is eager to become involved in the Westminster community. Steve Augustine currently serves on Moonlit Acres’ Board of Directors as the President.

Hannah Olexy

Hannah Olexy is a young woman who lives in Westminster. She loves Carroll County and works tirelessly to educate her community about inclusion for people with disabilities. Hannah is currently working as a peer-to-peer support at Bello Machre where she helps teach others self-advocacy skills as well as facilitates a social group. In addition, Hannah is committed to using social media to connect her peers to social and community outing groups. Hannah also works as a Peer Trainer for Bello Machre where she offers professional development trainings to direct support staff to educate them about abuse, prevention, and reporting. Overall, Hannah is a passionate advocate in the disability field and has used her experience to educate her community around inclusion, employment-first practices, and person-centered practices through various speeches both locally and statewide. She is excited to use her expertise to support Moonlit Acres towards person-centered practices and community inclusion. Currently Hannah Olexy serves on our Board of Directors. In addition, Hannah is in the process of obtaining training to become our Peer-to-Peer support staff where she will co-facilitate our respite groups alongside Holly and Todd.

Christi Hanks

Christi Hanks is a software developer who lives in Ellicott City with her husband and young adult son with autism. Christi previously served on the board of the Howard County Autism Society from 2004 to 2010 and again from 2013 to 2017. Christi Hanks currently serves on Moonlit Acres’ board of director as the Treasurer.

Jennifer Tillman

Jennifer Tillman is very excited to be a part of Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm. She currently serves on Moonlit Acres’ Board of Directors as the Secretary. Jennifer worked with Holly at Penn Mar Human Services for 2 years, working first as a Quality Assurance Coordinator and then in the employment department as a Youth Transition Coordinator. Jennifer fell in love with working with this community through her employment experience at Penn-Mar Human Services. She joined the board of MARF because our mission aligns with where she believes the DDA field should be headed. Jennifer is passionate about treating everyone as equals regardless of their abilities or backgrounds. In addition to her experience with the Developmental Disability population, Jennifer graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Masters of Education.

Brooke Hagerty

Brooke joins us as an active entrepreneur in and around Carroll County.  Her background in hospitality as a chef, restaurant owner, health coach, and farmers market manager puts her in front of a lot of people and she is never at a loss for words when it comes to promoting organizations that really speak to her. Fundraising is a passion of Brooke’s, and she is anxious to spread the word about Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm to Carroll County and beyond.  When Brooke is not working she enjoys yoga, working out, hikes with her husband Ken and dog, Lily and of course cooking!

Sharon Glass

Sharon Glass, OSB, is thrilled and excited to serve on the Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm Board where she hopes to share her diverse gifts. Sharon has devoted her life to cultivating and promoting a better quality of life and independence for individuals as they seek social justice and self-sufficiency in today’s global community. People know Sharon as an advocate, ally, and activist; a retreat leader, spiritual director and contemplative; a wife, mother and homeschooler; and a friend and confidant. She has found fulfillment working within the faith community and beyond, is a Benedictine Oblate, and looks forward to serving as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Sharon is a graduate of University of Maryland University College (now Global Campus) with a degree in Social Sciences, and she will graduate in May, 2022 with a Masters of Divinity from United Lutheran Seminary.

Jennifer Mettrick

Jennifer Mettrick is an advocate for all people being able to live their best lives, drive the supports they receive and have opportunities to engage in community life. Jennifer strongly believes in the mission of Moon Lit Acres Retreat farm and is excited to be part of the Board. Jennifer lives in Westminster, MD with her husband and young adult children. She was the Chief Strategy Officer of Penn-Mar Human services and prior to that the Director of Operations at Change, Inc. where she had the opportunity to work with Holly and Todd to improve the employment outcomes for people with developmental disabilities.  She is now the Executive Director of Liberty Healthcare Corporation’s Maryland Quality Improvement Organization designed to improve outcomes of people receiving services through Maryland’s Developmental Disabilities Administration.
